Splendor has proven to be a very sturdy fiber that is a joy with which to work.

  • A favorite 100% silk fiber. It comes in a 12 ply format
  • When pulled apart it easily divides into 3 sections of 4 ply each
  • One section is perfect for stitching basketweave on 18 count canvas. For 13 count canvas I would use 6-8 ply (1.5 - 2 sections).

 If you are going to stitch this fiber using long stitches, I would recommend stripping your fiber first (pull all individual plies apart and then put them all back together). By stripping the plies, the fiber will appear to be more full and give you better coverage.
